Beetle Cam

How do you get up close to shoot a wild lioness around Tanzania’s national parks? Easy. Just strap a digital SLR camera with f2 flashes and a trigger to a remote control car. Camoflage it and drive in for a close up.

They had a few mishaps. One day the lions mauled the camera and carried it away. They later found the mangled body, camera destroyed but amazingly, memory card intact.

What I love is that the animals are looking right down the lense. You don’t get that so often with wild animal shots.

Ha ha, these photos are great! I never thought a camera straped to the back of an RC car would be able to get something that good. Too bad the camera and car got hacked up though.
